Bad For You SYNOPSIS:
Innocence was never meant for the addictive…
Addiction was something Krit Corbin accepted as part of his nature a long time ago. He decided to embrace it and flip his finger at the rules. Women had always been the number one thing on his list of addictions. He couldn’t get enough. Being the lead singer in a rock band had only made access to his favorite addiction that much easier.
Being alone was the only thing Blythe Denton understood. The small town minister’s family that raised her hadn’t accepted her as their own. The minister’s wife had always made sure Blythe understood just how unworthy she was of love. When Blythe is sent away to college and given a chance to finally be free of living as an unwanted burden, she looks forward to having peace in her life. Being alone isn’t something that bothers her. She escapes reality in the stories she writes.
However, the ridiculously sexy tattooed guy who keeps throwing parties in the apartment above hers is driving her crazy. For starters, he doesn’t treat her like she would expect a guy with a different woman always hanging on his arm to treat someone as uninteresting as her. She looks nothing like the gorgeous women she sees parading in and out of his apartment, but for some strange reason he keeps showing up at her door.
During a party at his apartment, Krit’s new neighbor comes to the door with her long brown hair pulled up in a messy knot and a pair of glasses perched on her cute little nose. She wants him to turn down the music, but he convinces her to stay.
Krit Corbin may have just found his biggest addiction yet. And Blythe Denton realizes too late that she’s finally been claimed.

Book Nerds review of Blue Notes, by Carrie Lofty

Blue Notes, by award winning author Carrie Lofty. A wonderful love story! Our main character is an unbelievably talented pianist. She was born Rosie Nyman, and came from a terrible childhood, with horrifying parents. As a child, she was subjected to so much negativity and darkness. She eventually was placed into the foster system, but managed to be one of the very few to luck out with amazing foster parents, who she later feels more connected to than she ever did her biological parents. In an effort to leave the past behind, she went so far as to change her name to Keeley. Despite her terrifying past, Keeley ends up moving forward with life (or trying to) and attends college at Tulane, where she excels as a pianist, pouring her heart and soul into her music. After eavesdropping on her practicing one day, Keeley meets the beautiful, brooding Jude, who happens to be New Orleans royalty. However, Keeley has no idea who he is, and brushes him off as she (quite literally) sprints away from him. Not long after, they meet again at a local club, where Jude dares Keeley to push her boundaries and her comfort level. Keeley rises to the challenge, making it a night she will never forget. Eventually Keeley finds out who Jude is, billionaire playboy whose parents died tragically, leaving him to run a massive corporation at such a young age. Jude consistently pushes Keeley and opens her up in ways she has never experienced before. All the while, Keeley struggles to hide her jaded past from Jude. When Keeley’s past catches up with her and she’s exposed as her original self, Rosie Nyman, will what these two lovers share be able to withstand the frenzy that follows?

Book Nerds review of Can’t Shake You, by Molly McLain

Just finished Can’t Shake You, by Molly McLain (a River Bend novel). This was a nice romance novel to read. The main characters, Josh & Carissa, had met years earlier and instantly fell hard for one another, but neither of them acted on it beyond that first night. Shortly after, Josh was deployed. While he was gone, Carissa started dating his best friend, Reed. Now Josh is back from deployment and Carissa is single. Problem is– Josh is too noble of a man to pursue his best friends ex, even though he had her first- nobody knows about that. Carissa ends up hiring Josh to help her with an investment property – which adds even more hurdles, because Josh does NOT mix business with pleasure. How in the world can these 2 figure this out without hurting other people in the process? Is it even possible? Check it out! Book Nerds definitely recommends!

Book Nerds Review of Knockout, by JC Valentine

Knockout by JC Valentine is book 1 of the Wayward Fighters novels. Let me start out by saying that right now, I have a tiny obsession with MMA fighters, and I’ve read a few books now where the male character was a fighter. However, Jami “The Judge” Weston, may just take the cake. Warning: Jami will invoke drooling, swooning, and sighing. He may also piss you off. Oh, but he’s so worth it. Ally comes from a family where spousal abuse was a regular occurrence. Back then, as a young boy, Jami was her protector, her savior, her light. The books begins with Ally and Jami being reunited after years and years. Jami doesn’t know who she is at first, but that doesn’t last long. For Ally, who never stopped loving Jami, she feels as if she’s finally gotten a missing piece of herself back now that Jami is a part of her life again. But does she really? Jami makes it very clear that he is not looking for anything more than a physical relationship with her. He doesn’t have room for the distraction that a deeper relationship would bring with it. Can Ally handle something like that?
